What is the Utilities sector?

The utilities sector refers to a category of companies that provide basic amenities, such as:

  • Energy,
  • Electricity,
  • Water,
  • Natural gas,
  • Sanitation and Waste Disposal companies

Although utilities are private, for profit companies they are part of the public service landscape and are therefore heavily regulated. It can be challenging for testers to have substantial business knowledge in this area, so we designed this session to give you an overview from a QA perspective.

People with experience in IT and SLDC, but no particular experience with Utilities.
