What about COVID-19?

We base our actions on the advice we receive from the Flemish government.

Update 28 October 2020:

In the Ministerial Decree of 28 October, various authorities amended the Covid-19 measures and the existing scenarios for education networks.

To clear up misunderstandings: Brightest Academy does not fall under “Adult Education”.

Nevertheless, Brightest Academy will switch to code “red” from Monday 2 November 2020 onward.

This has a significant impact on the organization of our theory and practical lessons on our campuses.

For every training we will verify whether we can teach the lessons online, and if this is a suitable educational approach.

Our various learning paths (long-term or short-term courses, full-time day courses, apprenticeship,…), training types (theoretical or practical), lesson content and moments,… each require a specific approach.

General approach:

  • Theoretical courses, which already started will continue online.
  • Technical courses or workshops, which already started will continue online.
  • If not possible or not started yet, they will be postponed to a later date.

We will try to inform you as much as possible, as soon as possible – via digital channels – whether your specific course(s) will be continued online or on campus, or possibly postponed and rescheduled.

We emphasize that all safety regulations and in particular the guidelines and regulations regarding mouth mask obligation within the campus, classrooms, and all other public spaces where social distance is not possible, remain in force.

The layout and circulation plan of each campus will be communicated to you if needed.

What about CATERING?

A sandwich lunch is included in all full-day trainings and sessions.

What about DEVICES and SOFTWARE needed for courses?

For all practical trainings and sessions, there is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy.

If needed, specific software installation or configuration instructions will be sent by e-mail prior to the training.

What's the LANGUAGE used during the courses?

All courses are given in Dutch or English (upon request), course materials are in English.

Do I need to take an EXAM to complete your courses?

When an exam is mandatory to complete a course, it is mentioned specifically on the course details page.

This is mainly required for certification courses.

Our swITch to IT program requires you to complete exercises and make a final group assignment.

What's the CAMPUS or LOCATION of my course?

The location is specified on the event page linked to the course.

When no location is mentioned, the campus is not known yet, and will be chosen based on the participants registered for the course.

Do you provide IN-HOUSE or ONLINE training(s) or session(s)?

Yes, we can organize our courses wherever you wantonsite at your office, at a neutral location (e.g. a hotel), or in one of our campuses. There will be no extra charges for locations within Belgium. For locations further away or abroad, please contact us for a tailored offer.

Online is also possible! We have the tools and guarantee the same interaction as in a physical classroom.
You only need a computer with a proper network connection, no installations are required.

The timing or schedule of courses is specified on the event pages linked to the specific course.

You can find a calendar via the home page or the top menu of this website.

When a course is not planned, the timing or schedule is not known yet, and will be determined based on the participants registered for the course.

How do I REGISTER for ME (or MULTIPLE people)?

You can register via the course details page of the course you would like to participate in:

In case the event is planned:

  • you click on the event at the bottom of the course detail page
  • on the event page you can buy a ticket and add it to your shopping cart
  • you can add more then one event to your shopping cart (multiple courses)
  • proceed through checkout to register for the course(s)
  • you will receive a confirmation email
  • we will receive your registration and will double check all entered data

 

In case the event is not planned:

  • you click on the event at the bottom of the course detail page
  • on the event page you can RSVP for a date in the future (form)
  • you will receive a confirmation message
  • we will receive your registration and will double check all entered data

 

The same event, both planned (ticket) and not planned (RSVP), can be purchased or RSVPed multiple times. For example when you want to subscribe for more than 1 person.

When is my registration considered FINAL?

As soon as you receive a written communication via e-mail confirming your subscription, your reservation is final.

How do I PAY for my course registration(s)?

Have you successfully completed the checkout of your shopping cart? In that case you will receive a confirmation message.

We will receive your registration once you completed the checkout successfully. We will double check all entered data.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer, we ask you to pay the registration fee within 8 days.

If you wish to pay in instalments, please contact us.

I want to use the SME portfolio (KMO portefeuille), how does this work?

Brightest NV is a recognized training and advice provider. If your company pays for your training, they can apply for a subsidy via the SME portfolio (KMO portefeuille) and save up to 20-30%, with a maximum of € 7,500 per year.

In practice, this means for you as an organization that you can make use of our advice and training courses regarding Software quality control and all sub-domains with a government subsidy.

As a company you must fall under the SME (KMO) category (less than 250 employees; annual turnover max. 50 million euros) to make use of this subsidy measure. You can apply for this subsidy via www.vlaio.be.

Of course we are happy to help you with the registration & application to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

A payment via the wallet proceeds as follows:

  • You register for a ticket “Pay via SME portfolio/KMO portefeuille” and receive a confirmation email from Brightest Academy
  • You register and log in to kmo-portefeuille.be
  • You submit a project application and enter the registration fee excluding VAT as the project amount (this amount can be found in the confirmation email from Brightest Academy or on our website).
  • The portfolio indicates how much they subsidize and how much you have to pay.
  • You pay your share (enter the structured message at the invoice number) and give permission to transfer the portfolio to our account.
  • The payment of the SME portfolio (KMO portefeuille) to us takes an average of 14 calendar days.
  • You pay the VAT directly to Brightest NV with the structured communication from the confirmation email.
  • After 14 calendar days we receive your full payment, we prepare the invoice with the notification paid and send it to you.

Important info:

  • The registration fee excluding VAT must be at least 100 euros.
  • Your application must be made no later than 2 weeks after the start of the training.

Cancellation:

How can I CANCEL my registration(s)?

If you are not able to attend the training or session due to unforeseen circumstances, more than 2 weeks before it starts: we request you to contact us as soon as possible.

Together with you we will find the best solution for you which might lead to:

  • Cancellation of the training
  • Rescheduling the training to a later moment

In case you need to cancel the training or session less than 2 weeks before it starts, the complete amount will be invoiced. In that case, it is always possible to send a colleague to follow the training in your place.

It is always possible that we need to cancel a training due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure. In that case, we will contact you personally.

I have paid and canceled on time, how do I get my MONEY BACK?

We will cancel your registration and process it administratively.

You will receive a credit note for the refund.

We will only refund the course fee after deducting any open fees.
